Grab your tea, it's story time.
Suddenly in the midst of parenting my daughter, I found myself 60 lbs heavier than ever before. It wasn't just a number on the scale, it was a weight on my body that drained me of energy and left me feeling lost. I struggled with heavy habits, like starting my day with two bagels and a hot chocolate, making it difficult to break the cycle that was keeping me feeling stuck in a body I didn't recognize. I was tired, my body ached, and I felt weak both physically and mentally.
Even simple exercises like downward dog caused me pain in my shoulders and neck, leaving me feeling like a mess. Desperate for change, I knew I had to start from the core. Embracing the foundation of strength training, I discovered the transformative power of TRX Pilates - a fusion that combined strength building with modified yoga stretches using the TRX equipment. Slowly but surely, I began to feel the shift in my body and mind. I replaced late night snacks and wine with soothing yoga sessions, taking small steps towards a healthier lifestyle.
The journey wasn't easy. I faced setbacks and injuries along the way, all while balancing the demands of parenting on my own. It took me four years to reach a point where I felt stronger, healthier, and more in tune with my body. Looking back, I wouldn't have it any other way. The discipline and consistency required to make lasting changes in the midst of a hectic parenting lifestyle have shaped me into a stronger and more resilient individual.
